goldBach
goldBach is not a proper name but a concept, created by Nicholas Wilson and inspired by Goldbach’s Conjecture, for the production of music for film in any genre. Strings of notes of prime number value are folded in on themselves and contrapuntally manipulated - 3/5 is a more beautiful ratio than 4/4. goldBach also refers to Bach’s Goldberg Variations and decibels (dB) - it’s all very baroque (and a bit Deleuzian).
Nicholas Wilson studied at the Royal College of Music and Royal College of Art. Besides making music he has worked as performance artist, printmaker and lawyer. His music for concert and dance has been performed in Europe, Israel and Japan.
